So, I bring you the burning question: Mac or PC? Which do you use or prefer?

Ever since I can remember, I have been using a Mac. Even at work. Back in Los Angeles, I worked for an advertising agency that gave everyone gorgeous, beautiful MacBook Pros and it wasn’t until my move to Washington, aka Microsoft country, where the PC would enter my life again. Well, I take that back. Six years prior to us moving to Seattle, my loving husband Paul, waited in line all night after Thanksgiving dinner for a Black Friday sale to buy me a PC laptop. Little did I know, this would become his laptop. . he has always loved, worked with and used PC’s. And when I started my job in Seattle, at an agency who was responsible for a piece of the Microsoft digital work and the Windows 8 digital advertising, of course everyone in our office had a PC laptop.

So, I had to re-learn my way around my computer. . much like I am doing today with this Toshiba Satellite Notebook.

Thankfully, my husband helped me set everything up. I really love the new Windows 8 start screen. It’s pretty cool I must say. Put all your favorite apps, sites, and people on the Start screen, get live updates at a glance, and get to anything you want with a tap or a click. It’s everything you care about in one place, and arranged the way you want it.

And this isn’t the usual wall of static icons: Live tiles on your Start screen animate with the latest information. Status updates, weather forecasts, Tweets, and more–you’ll see live updates before you open a single app. Pin as many tiles to your Start screen as you like. Resize them, organize them in groups, move them around, you can even choose your background colors and patterns, so everything is just the way you want it. And Windows 8 comes with built-in apps to do all the basics and a lot more!

Again, I am pretty impressed.

Aside from Windows 8, this laptop, to me, is just like any other dependable laptop. Toshiba is a great, reliable brand and you can’t go wrong with this one. For me, the price point is the big selling point. At under $400, this is a great deal if you are looking for a simple laptop, packed with the essentials. There is also a larger touchpad and larger keyboard/keypad.

So, if you’re in the market for a new PC laptop for yourself, your child or another member of your family, check this one out. It’s a great starter laptop for under $400.00. And for some reason now, my husband seems to think this one is his. . hmmmm. . I’m going to have to think about that. ?

The Satellite C Series laptop is a simple laptop packed with essentials to master basic tasks at home or away.

Satellite laptops come with innovative, thought-through features you won’t get just anywhere-extras that make it easier to manage and enjoy your life. Look for larger touchpads with multi-touch control for better Windows 8 navigation:

  2. 4GB DDR3 SDRAM
  3. 500GB 5400RPM SATA hard drive
  4. 15.6″ diagonal widescreen TruBrite TFT display (1366 x 768)
